The outdoor water meter well should be filled with sawdust, cotton wool or other thermal insulation materials, covered with plastic cloth, and the water meter box cover should be covered, which can effectively prevent the water meter and gate valve from freezing. If the water meter is installed in the corridor, please pay attention to close the corridor door.

4. “Warm thaw”. For faucets, water meters, and pipes that have been frozen, do not shower them with hot water or bake them with fire, otherwise the water meters will be damaged. It is advisable to wrap a hot towel on the faucet first, then pour warm water to defrost the faucet, then turn on the faucet, and pour warm water along the faucet slowly to the pipe to defrost the pipe. If it is poured to the water meter, there is still no water flowing out, indicating that the water meter is also frozen. At this time, wrap the water meter with a hot towel and pour it with warm water (not higher than 30 degrees Celsius) to defrost the water meter.
